This role is integral to our expanding Infrastructure Automation Team within the Public Cloud. As a Linux DevOps Engineer, you’ll collaborate with various infrastructure teams (Security, Networking, Database, Unix) to develop, deploy, and support cloud and hybrid applications. Given the collaborative nature of the role, the ideal candidate should possess seniority in DevOps/AWS/technical skills and interpersonal skills, demonstrating strong communication, teamwork, customer service, and leadership abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Use Terraform to develop and deploy highly available, scalable, and secure applications in AWS.
- Assist in architecting, designing, and implementing cloud-based IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions.
- Develop best practices for the implementation, use, and support of EC2 and Database-based resources.
- Design, develop, and implement automation to support continuous delivery and continuous integration solutions.
- Provide consulting and help build pipelines for application teams integrating cloud services into their application.
- Design and develop automation for governing usage of cloud services.
- Design and implement workflows to automate the release and upgrade process for applications in Development, Test, and Production environments.
- Create and update support documentation and standards.
- Develop automated methodologies for deployment activities, configuration management, supporting systems, and business processes.
- Use Jira to track and manage all work through the development life cycle.
- Proactively analyze and contribute improvements to support our deployment processes.
- Investigate and contribute to solving various issues in production environments.
- Drive compliance and security efforts related to systems managed by the team.
Skills / Experience:
- 5+ years’ experience in AWS.
- 5+ years’ experience in infrastructure, including compute, network, database, and security.
- Strong proficiency with Bitbucket/Git, Terraform, Unix, Jenkins, Python, Ansible, and AWS CLI.
- 5+ years’ experience with autoscaling and container-based solutions like ALB, ASG, Batch, and ECS.
- AWS professional and/or specialty certification, such as Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, a plus.
- Experience in implementing Secure Architectures for private and/or public internet-facing systems.
- Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts, infrastructure, and best practices, such as K8S, Containers, Serverless, Microservices.
- Strong understanding of IaC, CI/CD Pipelines, CloudFormation, Bamboo, etc.
- Strong understanding of networking and internet protocols and distributed systems.
- Experience designing and developing resilient, highly available, and scalable systems for the cloud.
- Working knowledge of Shared Responsibility models.
- Prior experience building out CI/CD pipelines.
- Azure experience a plus.
